    As I understand it, the General List is for officers who are specialists in some field and who are not currently assigned to a regiment. The Special List is for officers currently serving in foreign armies.

    As "ex MOT" intrigued to see Pool Godsell's contribution to the old outfit from 1921-1933, particularly as Secretary to the Committee considering alternatives to Road Tax in 1922. Also, his studying the system of traffic lights in Oxford Street "for three hours" in February 1932 with a view to their being introduced nationally.

    His "promotion" to O.B.E can be found in the Edinburgh Gazette, 7 June 1927
