Thanks Pamela. We've searched old address books belonging to my wife's granny and have found a record that suggest that Brian returned to England in the early 1960s. But sadly we have no idea of where he then lived. All we have is another entry later of an address in Glamorgan.

From our own searches we believe he married Peggy Edith Blaze, born 4 May 1917, and died 2001. We think they were married on 14 July 1953. We don't know if they had children.
And yes, that's the place at Radyr in Glamorgan.

I found that marraige too.

The address came from electoral rolls the couple appear to have lived in Edinburgh too as they are on electoral rolls there also. I’ll dig out the address again tomorrow.

I didn’t find any births for children of the couple in England but if they did have children they could have been born in Scotland.

Peggy appears on the Nursing & Midwifery registration records.

It might be worth you purchasing the marraige cert this should confirm fathers names,occupations & addresses.Order certs from gro.gov.uk

Thanks again for your wonderful help. We'd found some of these but not the Edinburgh ones. Good idea to follow up with the marriage certificate, which we'll do. We're still trying to establish when Brian returned from Africa.

He’s in Barnton Gardens on 1948 electoral roll,no other person listed. I’m not sure when that roll was taken as there are 2 separate entries for 1948.

There’s no sign of him on electoral rolls in Edinburgh until 1951.
