jomot1, thank you for those data - I'm still digesting and reconciling.
Wondering about the death aged 40 of Edward Douglass, for whom I had a birth about 1887 and marriage 1805 to Isabella Richardson, no date of death.
I have 6 children, the last Elizabeth born about 1818 (baptism 18 Oct 1818) and the 1819 death (the same year as the Edward Douglass aged 40 that you found) would be a possibility.
My records for her siblings -
Ann 12 Sep 1806
Jane 18 Jun 1809
Joseph 18 Aug 1811 d. age 42 at Alnwick
Margaret 9 Jun 1813 d. 21 Oct 1849 at sea
Thomas 12 Jul 1816 d. 1866 age 50 at Aberdeenshire
last child - Elizabeth, bap 18 Oct 1818
Despite the precise dates, these are not well sourced - I take them as indicative only.

Edward was buried 5 Mar 1819, and the address (in the familysearch link) was Hill Head. Elizabeth was buried 24 Feb 1819 and is the burial immediately before him, aged 7 months.
It's not on Durham Records Online, but I've now found the baptism at Widdrington for Ann on Familysearch - as I mentioned previously, the early baptisms are in the Bishop Barrington era so give extra genealogical information, specifically that Ann is the 1st daughter of Edward Douglas, native of Ellingham, and Isabella Richardson, native of Heddon on the Wall.

Joseph's baptism at Alnwick is non-conformist - Green Batt (formerly Clayport) Meeting House, Scotch Church (Presbyterian)- so doesn't include the same level of detail, but gives his DoB as 26 Jul 1811 (baptised 18 Aug 1811). Its a bit difficult to read, but I think it says that Edward was a husbandman.

Don't know how I didn't see it before (I did look!), but here is Jane's baptism at St Michael, Alnwick - confirms her as the 2nd daughter of Edward Douglas, Husbandman, native of Ellingham, and Isabella Richardson, native of Heddon on the Wall. Born 18 Jun 1809, baptised 23 July:

And the marriage of Ralph Shepherd to Ann Douglas[s], widow, on 24 Nov 1826, also at St Michael, Alnwick:

You have uncovered a lot of detail that is at Alnwick or close by, and that alone is encouraging given my Landells families that I have been researching lived there. Although living in Australia, I have visited the St Michael's churchyard - unfortunately, did not get much information there.

Currently, researching (via Ancestry) Thomas DOUGLAS, 5th child (2nd son) of Edward DOUGLAS and Isabella Richardson - starting from the 1861 UK Census information - when his family was living at 134 Linkskill street, Tynemouth (District 05).
This was Thomas, birth 12 July 1816 at Heddon-on-the-Wall, Northumberland.
I hope this is the correct person (son of Edward, Isabella) - I'm assuming so, from his birthplace given in the various Census.
I'm unsure of his date of death, perhaps Dec 1865, in Northumberland?
Cannot locate his marriage to Ann (no surname - born about 1818, at Chesterfield, Derbyshire). They had 9 children, the first 5 in Manchester 1844 to 1848, then 4 more at North Shields, Northumberland.
Mary Ann Elizabeth 1844
Thomas C. 1845
George 1846
Alice 1847
Hannah 1848
Maria 1850
Emma 1851
Thomas 1853
Elizabeth 1859

Ann's maiden surname was DOE.
You can use the free index at the GRO website [gro.gov.uk] to search for birth records, which will then give you the maiden surname of the mother. There are a few 'quirks' in the system, but for most births its fairly straightforward.

Thomas, born 1816: Another death possibility is 1901, an inmate at St Joseph House, Netherwitton (not far from Widdrington and North Shields) - aged 85. UK Census 1901
