Default USA 1950 Census to be released on April 1st

As the UK is stuck with the 1921 Census and the 1939 register. Is there an expectation of a shorter life span in the USA.

The '100' year rule is rather stifling for UK genealogy.

I am slow on the uptake this morning and it took me a couple of reads before I cottoned on to what you are implying.

I did go looking for information on the 1950 census release a few days ago (for an elderly relative in the US) and found this familysearch blog. https://www.familysearch.org/en/blog...s-release-date

It was rather 'tongue in cheek'.

Even I had to read it through a few times myself.
