    Default Reginald Daniell

    Dear All
I am trying to trace some service records for a Reginald Daniell.
    Born: 1920 in Brentford
    Died: 1977 in London
The only information I have is: Gunner - RA - 6462793 and that he may have served in Egypt.
I have been able to trace records for his father but nothing for Reginald.
Any help will be much appreciated.
    Kind regards
    Jan Groves

The Ministry of Defence has not yet put on general release records of those serving after 1921. The link below takes you to a post about you can obtain them, but anecdotal information suggests that the service is currently experience very very long delays:

Find My Past has a record set "Royal Artillery Attestations 1883-1942". I've had a quick look and can't see your chap. They have:

Reginald Roy Dennis Walder Daniell - service No.906083
    and
    R. Daniell - service No.1564220

    Gunner - RA - 6462793
That seems to a number allocated to the Royal Fusiliers. He may have transferred to the RA. As Megan has explained, you need to apply to the MoD.

    Thank you for your reply.
Reginald had no middle names and the service number was from his marriage certificate.
I don't have any other information.

There's a report of his wedding in the Fulham Chronicle, 8 Aug 1941, where he is described as "... Driver-Mechanic Reginald Daniell, R.A. ..."
