As part of ongoing research into Anglo Jewish will extracts I have written several articles for Cemetery Scribes Blog (HERE). To date, I have written on the following individuals;
Phoebe Sarah Ayrton nee Marks "Beautiful Genius"
Philip Haldinsten and family of Thorpe Lodge, Norwich
Joseph Benhocok 1750-1811. The Mystery of his oak chest
Louisa Elliot nee Salomons 1778-1811 ( The Goldsmid, Prager and Elliot relationships)
I am currently writing about Israel Zangwill.
Phoebe Sarah Ayrton nee Marks and Israel Zangwill are important in Anglo Jewish history with of them involved in promoting women's rights among other key contributions.
Those researchers interested in the suffragette movement would find these two articles of particular interest.
Phoebe Sarah Ayrton and Israel Zangwill have Blue Plaques.
Researchers should also look regularly at Synagogue Scribes Wills Extracts to which I have contributed several hundred recent additions. These are being added to.
