Hi Pam
Just jumped on this thread (is that allowed?) I served in the Army (83 to 94)and I can't find me, even with my own Army number! I am looking for my 2 Grandads who I recently found out served but have no records left to check - sadly.
If I can't find me, what are the chances of finding them in your valuable opinion?
Many thanks
Mike

Hi Mike,
Welcome to British-Genealogy.
You are allowed to 'jump on' any thread as long as your post is relevant.
When you say you 'can't find me' are you searching Forces War Records? For starters, see the first link in post #4 which tells of our connection.
The only people who have your service records are the Ministry of Defence. Other bits of your service may be recorded elsewhere, and it's those other records which FWR will transcribe.
This is a list of the records on FWR.

I suspect that you don't appear in FWR because your service is too recent.
Details on how to apply for your records, plus those of your grandfathers, can be found here.

You do not need service numbers, but you do need a date of birth.
