I am trying to identify which regiment this gentleman served with during WW2. He was my late uncle and was involved at Newhaven for the D-day landings.

Hi
Unfortunately his service number does not give a clue - General Service Corps 14200001 - 15000000
from - https://ww2talk.com/index.php?thread...ocations.4837/
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genera...tinues%20today.
Applying for his service record may be the only way to find that out.

Sincere thanks, this is great information. I only wish to identify his regiment and do not wish at this stage to obtain his military records. I am still waiting for my grandfather's records (12 months) due to the Covid Pandemic!
