    Default Alfred Ellis

Hello there, this is my first post. I'm trying to find any information about the lives of the Norfolk Yeomanry and the Army Veterinary Corps during World War 1 in Galipoli, Mesapotamia, Egypt, Palestine etc as my Grandfater served somewhere there. I've read war diaries from Galipoli and trying to find others for Egypt etc. Nowhere does there seem to be detailed information. Any ideas please? My Grandad is Alfred Ellis and whilst I have his medals and can trace his medal and basic service record I think the other records may habe deen destroyed in the air raids.

    Welcome to the Brit-Gen forums
I have moved your post to the WW1 forum and at the moment it has the very short title "Alfred Ellis" which can be changed if you wish.
The National Archives do have war diaries, follow the links from this page
to see if there are any which may help you. Even though it is hughly unlikely you will find a direct reference to your grandfather you could get a general idea where and when his units were posted.
