"Dorothy Moffat, born 1888 in Brunswick, Melbourne, Australia, after 1943 when her mother Ellen Moffat died. She was granted probate as "Dorothy Henderson, wife of Harold Robert Henderson". "

Have you obtained a copy of this to see if there's an address for Dorothy?

That's an interesting thought. Do (fairly modern) wills usually show addresses of those to whom probate is granted? The only wills I've obtained are a lot older than 1943

Sorry for the delay in getting back to this - life got in the way.
A very strange thing - when I (and others) looked in 2016 we couldn't find the 1914 marriage on Scotland's People, but I did find the 1948 one. Possibly the adjustment was added later?

I'm wondering if Dorothy's middle name Pauline was added in honour of Harold's mother, whose name was Paulina. Another of my family members acquired extra names (two of her future mother-in-law's) when she was christened as an adult.

Also wondering - did Scotland have an equivalent of the 1939 register?

Good question about the probate - and I don't know the answer! I thought I'd downloaded one from the 1950's but I can't seem to find it on my laptop.

When I probated my mother's will I had to fill in various forms & include my address, but whether any of that is included on a download, or just the will itself, I honestly don't know. As it turns out, my address was included in her will anyway so I guess in that instance it wouldn't matter.

Wills only cost £1.50, so it may be worth a try anyway on the off-chance.

Yes, Scotland does have a 1939 register, but it isn't online and you have to make a written application per individual. If they died outside of Scotland you also need to give the date of death and provide a copy death certificate:
