    Default WW2 Malta

    Ronald Kenneth Phillips 1917-1997
    Served in Malta WW2
    Drill sergeant
    Searched in Ancestry, My Heritage and forces-war-records
    I have not been able to find any details about him in the R.A.F.
    Can anyone guide me please?

    Welcome to British-Genealogy.

    Service records for people who served after 1922 are still held by the Ministry of Defence. Full details of how to apply, plus links to the forms you need to send can be found here.

    I applied for my dad's army records at the end of 2019, and am still waiting, so you will need a lot of patience, though I am reliably informed that once staff are back in the office extra personnel will be drafted in to help deal with the backlog.

    Do you have a service number for him? And are you sure it’s the RAF that you want? “Drill Sgt” is really an army rank.
    Is it only his service life that you want to know about?

    The death of Ronald Kenneth Phillips born 2 May 1917 was registered in Hereford during Sep Q 1977.
