    Hello CLC1967,

    Welcome to British-Genealogy.

First of all, I've moved your query to a more appropriate forum as I don't think Leslie has any connection with 'special offers on subscription sites'.

Just to make sure we know who you're referring to, I assume you mean the Leslie Edward Croysdill, born in 1894, mother's maiden name Cully.

In the 1901 census, the family are living in Lancaster Road, East Ham, and consist of
    Edward, head, 37,shipping clerk
    Bertha L, wife, 31
    Edward L, 9,
    Winifred M, 8
    Leslie E, 6
    Myra, 5
    Cecil W, 2
    Ida L, 1
    Census reference RG13/1596 folio 93 page 17.

Obviously the best source of photographs is the family. Have you tried tracing descendants of Leslie's siblings? It might be worth checking websites to which people have uploaded their family trees, e.g Ancestry, Findmypast, FamilySearch, Tribal Pages, etc.
The other possible source is local newspapers. I think you need Newham Archives for that.

I found that Leslie was in the Canadian Army, but thanks to FMP's Migration records I've also found an additional piece of information which explains how/why he went to Canada. Canadian records have his surname transcribed as Croysdell.

    Leslie's Attestation Papers are online

and he is also in the online Virtual War Memorial.

Thank you for the info, I have emailed Newham to see if any notifications are in the newspapers, etc. I have tried to find relatives but to no avail. Even thinking of a DNA test to see if that takes me anywhere. I have all the information that you have provided already but thank you for the pointers.
