Smile FreeCen Projectt Update Sept 2021

    Hi
Things have changed slightly since my last message. our old website is no longer being updated. All work is now being uploaded directly to the FC2 website. We are able to upload files as soon as they are completed. I will send a message each month to give details of all the pieces uploaded in the previous month. Below are details of new pieces loaded in August.
We are always looking for volunteers to help us improve on these figures, if you have some spare
time and are interested please contact me by message here
There are new records for the following counties,
    1841, HUN
    1851, None This Month
    1861, BDF, BKM, HUN, WRY,
1871, BDF, DOR, DUR, KEN, NRY, WAR, WRY
    1881, SOM
    1891, CHI, ESS, GLS, LND
There are now 41,112,991 individual records on line, they break down into the census years as shown below.

Many thanks to all the volunteers who give up their free time to help us all with these projects.

    Census Year
    1841 5,558,293
    1851 4,293,044
    1861 12,027,324
    1871 8,040,570
    1881 803,424
    1891 10,390,336

    Best Wishes Bev

Thank you, and all your volunteers, Bev.
Would it be useful to provide the url of the new website? A little break in the middle would conform to anyone’s sensitivities.

    Hi Lesley
Thanks for your message. I was under the impression that the new FC2 site is actually located where FC1 used to be so there shouldn't be a change
    www.freecen org.uk
Any search for freecen should find the appropriate site
Hope this makes sense, not quite sure why I needed to leave a break in the middle, and hope this is ok if not please delete this message

    Thanks Bev.
We have a general rule that most URLs should be broken, usually any commercial ones, but some non-commercial ones carry ads for sponsers.
I know that FreeCEN is not commercial, but it just makes life simpler for the Mods if we ask everyone to do the same. I didn't intend to offend you. I thought that since we've had so many new members during the lockdowns, it would be useful for them if the current FreeCen url appeared on the Forum.

Thanks for the explanation, I understand now and I wasn't at all offended, I just didn't want to break any rules or upset anyone.
