You have mentioned the '61 and '71 Census. Do you have the family in '51?

Census reference H107 1962 273 32 (confirmed the 9yr old Edwin's birth registration Dec Qtr 1841, Gloucester, mother Biddlestone).

    Just to clarify -

    The '61 Census Year of Birth is 1809 and '71 is 1808 - you have posted YoB "about 1802" ('51 = 1808).
The '71 Census records Place of Birth consistently as London/Middlesex for William.
The '71 Census has his name as "William J Jennings"

Sorry to have gone quiet - dealing with the living!

I didn't have the 1851 census but I do now - thank you. Mother's maiden name appears variously as Bigglestone and Biddlestone.

The 1871 census middle initial does look like a 'J' but I have looked carefully at the handwritten entry and it could be an 'S' with a random mark confusing things or just enumerator error.

Do you have further details of the 1835 marriage - other than simply posting the date of marriage? What's the source?
How do you reconcile the 2 pre 1835 births on the 1851 Census with the claimed 1835 marriage?

I had 1835 on a family tree given to me by a relative who had 'researched'. 1835 was quoted and Family Search as the source. As my research found births pre 1835 I went back to Family Search to check and have seen the marriage as 1825.
