    Default Boer War soldier

I have found a studio photo (Ash & Co, Pendleton) of a sergeant in the Royal Lancashire Fusiliers wearing a Queen's South Africa medal with 5 clasps (these are not sufficiently clear to make out although if I had a list of the possibilities I might be able to make a stab at them) and the King's Good conduct medal.

As the photo came with other family photos I assume that there is some connection but I have no idea who it is!!

I have been in contact with the Fusilier museum in Bury but reached a dead end there.

Any thoughts on how to establish who this might be?

Have you any ideas about possible surnames?

this page seems to have a list of clasps

Findmypast has a dataset Anglo-Boer war records with an option of entering name of regiment. If I put in Royal Lancashire Fusiliers I get no results

On Forces War Records in the The Boer war medals to British and Commonwealth forces 1899-1902 there are indexes for a J Davies Colour Sergeant, 2 x R Davies Sergeants and an A Davies Sergeant,
There are a few Inmans but no Sergeants and a few Grimshaws but none a Sergeant.

I don't know what information is on the actual record
