Can anyone let me know what the letters mean against names on the Crimean medal roll. For example, the letters D and B often appear but there are others such a C.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks
Barry

Could you let us know which source you're referring to?
i.e the website and if possible a record reference?

Hi
This is a medal roll for the 13th Light Dragoons. It's on Ancestry and I have a screen shot of the record but not sure if I can post an image but the link is below.

After the letter D it states invalid to England. This appears after a number of names with the letter D.
Also would you know if an individual confirmed to be present at an action on the pay roll and muster listings would be entitled to a clasp even though their name didn't appear on the relevant medal roll?
Many thanks for replying and assisting me with this. It's appreciated.
Kind Regards

It could be a 'transfer to depot' note but such rolls are notorious for having abbreviations or notes only the clerk knew the meaning of.
I hope someone else can assist as I'm afraid I don't know your other queries.
