Default Italian Prisoner of Second World War

Hi, I am researching my family history and I am looking for information regarding my grandfather Vittorio Manno. He was born in S.Donato (Lecce) Italy, on 22.1.17.
Soldier of "Genio", he was captured on 11.12.1940 at Sidi el-Barrani (Egypt) and after several shifts in different Egyptian camps, he was boarded at Suez as POW 28707. He landed in Durban (Natal) and moved to the Zonderwater Camp (Transvaal) on 2.6.41. Vittorio stayed there until 24.7.42, when he was transferred to Durban, via train, and boarded on the steamship S/S “Strathnaver”, which, on 29.7.42, sailed to the UK. During his stay in South Africa he was never admitted to any hospital.

The last years of his imprisonment in Great Britain (Scotland) Vittorio spent his time in the whereabout of Edinburgh.
I would like to know in which camps he stayed and how long for and any other piece of detail available please.
I hope you can help me.
    Thanks
    Elisa

I can't help with any records but I have this in my bookmarks.

I did think at first that, being England, it wasn't going to be any help but the list of PoW camps does include those in Scotland.
It is a case of working your way through lots of pages to find possible locations, though the majority are very easy to dismiss simply because they're not in Scotland. List of camps begins on page 18.

However do read the introduction which begins on page 4.

Regarding records I don't know if details regarding the Scottish ones would have been kept by the Scottish authorities or whether they would be in The National Archives with the English ones.

Details of National Records of Scotland website and a couple of others.
