Thank you for doing that. So, James Jack's parents could be Thomas Jack/Margaret Forrester or Thomas Jack/Isobel Lang. I will do a bit more research today also. My Australian contact has the surname beginning with James Jack and daughter Marion.

Ok so your common ancestor is your great great great grandfather James Jack and his wife Ann Bowman? Your great great grandmother Margaret is their daughter and they are descended from Marion their eldest daughter and Margaret's sister? So you will have the details for Marion eg: marriage/husband/children and the line right through to your contact in Australia?
