I tried to follow Lesley’s link to the Worcestershire Regiment website but it carries a security warning, so I googled it:

    https://www.worcestershireregiment.co...ign_french.php

It lists a total of eight recipients of the Medaille D’Honneur, including Arthur.

Your suggestion that he might have been one of a group led me to check the others, in case there were any references to French awards. A couple of the men had surviving service records, but I couldn’t spot any mention of MDs.

There is a forum on the website with a section devoted to medal enquiries. Another section has the battalion war diaries.

You may also get an answer to your Trans. Class. Z A-R query.

You will have to register but it’s free to use.

    Thanks Peter,

That was a good through looking at the others what a shame no mention on theirs's either, I wonder why that is?

The link still didn't work for me, but I will try googling it too. The section devoted to medal enquiries may be a excellent option.

    Kind regards
    James

    Peter,

I am not able to register to enter the Worcester Medal Forum, or register at all, do you know why this is? Have you used the Worcester Forum before?

    Kind regards
    James

Sorry James, I can’t help. I haven’t personally used this site.

It may be something to do with the insecure connection. Attempting to log-in (I can’t see a registration option) brings up the insecure connection warning. Maybe the site is suffering from lack of attention and not being maintained properly.

The FAQs ask all the questions but, sadly, supply no definitive answers!

Maybe somebody with better knowledge than me will offer a solution.

I didn’t try to log in, just used the link I posted. It’s possible that the site isn’t being maintained because of the current lockdown situation if it’s on a club computer...
Have a look round the web, there may be a Worcs association.

    I don’t suppose there’s a contact email?
