Good spot about the naturlisation record, Alma.
I know no-one will believe me this far down the thread , but I did mean to write very early on (possibly in my first post) that I'd looked without success in the GRO Index for Louis' birth registration, but strongly suspected because of his name that he was born on the continent. Possibly France, possibly Belgium. (The latter being because I thought Arsene Wenger was Belgian. )
ADDED: You can get a copy of the Naturalisation Certificate from The National Archives. Note the spelling of his surname.
