    Dear wim sey
thankyou. May be try and look for Francis birth or baptism. I tried this yesterday looking for any person with the surname pepper bet 1828 and 1835 but no luck.
I did this because of another search I was doing, the birth I was given was 1832 but it ended up being confirmed at 1840.
    thanks Doreenh

The Edward Pepper who died in 1872 was 84. Here’s his death certificate:

Looking at the 1901 census, the Peppers in Clone were Church of Ireland.

I don't think any of that denominations records for Co. Wexford are on-line yet. The Clone COI parish records appear to start in 1833 and are in the RCB library in Dublin. A personal visit is required to view them.

The family can also be found in Griffiths Valuation for Clone in 1853, where the surname is spelled Peppard.

Statutory birth and death registration only started in Ireland in 1864, non RC marriages in April 1845 and RC marriages in 1864. Prior to that you have to rely on church records (where they exist) and many are not on-line as in this case.
