    Mis-filed as MARDEN in the WW1 Service Records (WO 363):

    Noah MAIDEN, enlisted with the Royal Engineers, 11 Nov 1916, declared age 38/39, born Aldridge, Staffs. (Birth registered Q1 1979 Walsall)
    Regt No. 213265
    Served until demob 1919

    Home: Aldridge, Walsall

    I checked the medal cards. No hits on Marden, only 1 hit on Maiden BUT he's 037940 Pte Noah Maiden, RAOC. Enlisted 14 Sept 1914, discharged 29 May 1919.

    Normal WW1 confusion?

    It's an old-style card. Oddly, with an enlistment in 1914, it only shows the Victory & British medals. That would fit if he left the UK in 2016 with the RE...

    037940 is on the Silver Badge roll. His enlistment is shown as 17 Sept 1917, discharged 28 May 1919. Discharged because of wounds, served overseas.
    There's also an entry the pension files, in fact Anc lists 2 sets for 037940 and 537940. The originals are on Fold3, so I can't check but it must be the same man.

    one other crumb of info - the pension files belong to the Western Front Association.
