    Default 1939 records

I am trying to locate my family in Liverpool in 1939. I mean they were a big family but they seemed to have fallen off the edge of the earth. William Henry Jervis born 19/8/1896 and wife May Jervis - nee Hamilton. By 1939 they had their whole family Margaret b.1919, Phyllis b. 1922, My Mum Dorothy b. 1924, Ronald b. 1929, Victor b. 1930 and Douglas b. 1932. How can I not find a huge family? Can anyone help please? Many thanks

You’ll find the family in Smithdown Rd transcribed as PARVIS.

That's on Ancestry. Find my Past have indexed the family as PERVIS

Incorrectly transcribed as Pervis on FMP and Parvis on Ancestry.

In fairness, that first letter does look like a P.

I suspect we all used wild cards when searching. I used William *rvis living in Liverpool and up they popped. I mention this just in case you haven't searched this way before. It wouldn't have come up using J*rvis because the J does look very much like a P

I meant to mention: when you know a person's exact birth date, as you do in this case (William) and cannot find them try entering the birth date and first name only (it's usually the surname which is mistranscribed).

Using FMP you can search by address if you know it.

I searched using William's full birth date.
