Hi Philip
Hope you are doing well.
Found that that next to Raphael his sister Esther also married in London to a Hijman Izaak Moscow (1849-1926)who lived in Whitechapel, they married in London city 1868,she died in London also in 1926 like Hijman did.
Maybe it can be udentified where Esther and Hijman were buried?
Isaac the brother married in Forest Gate London 1849(?) to a Rachel Wijnschenk and seemed to have 7 children. Sister Branca was apparently not in London, she lived in Amsterdam only could not find death date or that she married.
Best regards,
Paul

Hi Philip
From US got a declaration of intention which they say is the forepost of getting citizenship, have already sent mail to Immigration Services. According to the declaration Ralph/Raphael came to New York December 17 1881 on a ship which seems to read Persian Monarch from London, he from there went on to Boston.Ellis Island does not recognize his name as arrival there so do not know where in New York he should have come.
Have a nice day, best rgds, Paul

Ellis Island only came into existence in 1892.
Prior to that, immigrants were processed through Castle Garden.

Dear all
It has been some sime so hope all are in good health.
Following the van Wesel family: in the Amsterdam city archives it states that Wolf Joseph van Wesel (Amsterdam April 9, 1823), his wife Vrouwtje Coenraad Ziekenoppasser(Amsterdam either 12 or 19-12-1820)and children: Joseph Wolf(1844), Esther( 1847),Raphael(1849),Isaac(1859) and Branca(1862)all went to London. So am wondering what can be found about them, especially when and where did they come in the UK, where did they live and when did they die?
Thamks all again for your kind help and data, have a nice weekend, best regards, Paul Beek

Firstly, does the Amsterdam document give a date/year of when the family travelled to the UK?
I presume that you've checked the Dutch birth, amrriage, and deaths registers without finding any trace of any of them returning to Amsterdam?
Have you considered that from London they might have moved onwards to the US or Canada?
The only BMD registrations I can find for Wesel or Van Wesel in England and Wales are just three births between 1880 and 1891.
There's a lot of reading in this leaflet from The National Archives.

and also in this one
