    Default Searching by Area and not surname

    Hello,

    I am doing some research for my local history society, and want to find soldiers by area instead of by surname. Is there a way to search for soldiers who served in the Crimean War, the Boer War or the Korean War for my local area?

    1. You won't find any records online for those who served in the Korean conflict. The MoD has not released any records for those who served after 1921.

    2. As an experiment I went to FMP, and in the search selected "Military, armed forces & conflict". When the search box comes up, and it asks you "Where", I selected "other Britain & Ireland", and then typed in County Armagh, and up came 17,675 hits!

    3. Another source might be your local newspaper if its searchable on line.
