    Hi Jomot 1. I have now ordered the marriage cert of John Griffiths (Blacksmith). hopefully might get further along with connections. I will let you know if I make any progress. Apologies I was only looking at WG Griffiths birth cert from Quebec which gave George Griffiths as the father. I thought there might have been a few more Georges around! I was being too single focused. I had only glanced at the following birth certs in Winchester which you had posted so missed the " kempstin" as the second name of the father (GKG). So yes with the DNA link to Mary Anne J I should not be looking for another George. thank you for your patience.

    Keeping my fingers firmly crossed! He's the closest match I could find anywhere, but I'm still not entirely convinced its the right John. Hoping I'm pleasantly surprised
