The Ship Shad Thames

Hi All,
I’ve been hunting for a while but not getting anywhere, I’m trying to find a picture of a pub.
It was called the Ship, it was 94 Shad Thames, then renumbered in the 1900's to 21 Shad Thames. Unfortunately it was bombed in the war so no longer exists.
Does anyone have any suggestions on where to look?

First, a very warm welcome to Brit-gen.

Struggling to find a "pic" of the pub but did spot (1895) -
Mrs Beer, "Ship Tavern", 95 Shad Thames
In other instances she is named as Mrs Bier. Sad to report she was fined for watering the beer/bier?.

I had a look at "Lost pubs of London" - but drew a blank.

Yes, Matilda it was. The barrel actually on draft had been watered down by 2 gallons. The barrel in the process of being fined down had been watered down by 1 gallon. Seems there was an art to watering down!!
The pub had a long history - spotted it as far back as 1810.

Just "street walked" Shad Thames. Are some of the buildings coming off Tooley street the originals? They still bear the wharf names that appear on the 1896 map.

I found a Genealogy chat page on Genes Reunited headed.Ship Inn, Shad Thames, London c1865 https://www.genesreunited.com.au/boa...thread/1364489 There is a posting on there from a descendant of Matilda Beer seeking a photo of the pub.Also census info for the Beer family.

I also found on the Lost Pubs Project https://www.closedpubs.co.uk/london/...rk_ship2.htmla para with info you have for "The Crown & Sceptre was situated at 7 Shad Thames. This pub has now been demolished.Source: Ian Chapman" but refers to their facebook page.

I looked on facebook and there are two sites for Shad street area "Our Shad Thames" and "Shad Thames"

Perhaps Southwark Library can help but you may have a long wait for a reply!
