SP gives his birth registration district as Kilsyth. He's too young for the image of his certificate to be online. Removing his forename and extending the time to 1930-1940 and both genders only returned Gerard. Only child or mobile parents?
John & Annie married 1938, Kilsyth. Their certificate is available for download.

Maybe the parents were mobile, then. I only searched Kilsyth - a wider search will have to wait until lunch time. Could the others have been born in Canada. The gap between marriage and his birth could be due to WW2?
Building ideas out of smoke and mirrors, if John was away at the War, Annie might have gone to her parents for Gerard’s birth....

George is no relation to me. I just found the obituary and posted the details in 'Strays' in case anyone is distantly related and wonders what happened to him.
