I found one record for 1938 which said George was 56 (therefore born circa 1882) and his last UK address was Townhead House, Addingham.
I know occupants can change`several times in two years, but in 1939 the occupants of Townhead House were Gertrude (G?) Watson, born 11 July 1880 and James K Watson born 24 April 1910. Anyone want to guess what the K stands for? Birth registration June quarter 1910, Skipton registration district, James Kynoch Watson, mother's maiden name Kynoch.

    1911 census
Living in Silsden (Skipton registration district). Census reference RG14/25783 SN174
Walter Muir/Mair Watson, 40, born Glasgow. (FMP say Mair, I say Muir.)
    Annie Gertrude, 32, Aberdeen,
    James, 11 months, Silsden
Walter and Annie married 1 year. Haven't checked ScotlandsPeople, but possibly married in Scotland.

The only thing that doesn't add up is George's age in that 1938 travelling record compared to his birth registration in 1875, and his age in 1891.

The Gwulo Old Hong Kong website records GW Kynoch as an internee at Stanley Camp 1941 WW2.
Mentioned as brother of James Henry Kynoch 1882 - 1926

Mrs A Kynock also an internee at Stanley Camp.

    Well spotted.

There's a book "British civilians interned by the Japanese in World War Two" prepared by the Association of British Civilian Internees Far East Region.

There's a replica of the book online at https://cudl.lib.cam.ac.uk/view/MS-RCMS-00393

You may have this information already - FS have a burial in NZ in 1945 for a George William Kynoch. NZ BDM have him as Kynock, 59 years, so age a bit out.

There is also a poss death of an Annie Kynoch age 69 in Folkestone in 1950.
