According to what I'm getting on screen Adobe Flash Player will cease to function after December 2020. Anyone any idea what happens then? I'm currently using the 'Lincs to the Past' Lincolnshire Archive website to view Parish Register Webpages and this requires me to unblock Flash Player each visit. What will happen to the images in January?
Thanks
Mitch

Yes, Mitch, the Archives are aware.
Part of an email from someone who works at the Archives:
"We are currently working on the solution to this but we don't have a date for when the archive catalogue will be available on an alternative platform.
Adobe Flash will no longer function by the end of the year, but we have been assured by Lincolnshire County Council's central IT team that Lincs to the Past will continue to function on some browsers for the next 6 - 12 months.
We are hopeful that this will be enough time to complete work on the replacement."
Notice the 'some browsers' It would have been more re-assuring had the IT team specified which ones, instead of using cop-out words. LCC IT team need to concentrate on proper stuff instead of spending their time altering URLs every year. They've either deleted, or completely hidden from view, loads of essential links that used to be available via the Archives part of the website over the last ten years. But that's going off-topic.
The good news is that at least the parish registers are available on FMP, and therefore possibly available for free via your local library.
