Does anyone have any idea where this picture, dated 1939, was taken please? It shows my aunt, her cousin and possibly a friend outside a pub? Possibly she was visiting her uncle, Arthur Hawkes, who lived in Halifax and was a jacquard loom card cutter for Courtaulds. Many thanks.

Well done, this does indeed look like the location of the photograph. My great uncle Arthur Hawkes moved from Londons East end via Coggeshall in Essex with Courtaulds to Halifax in the 1920s. My aunt Beatrice and her cousin are in the photo, she was obviously visiting from London.
