    Default Arlene MB Hannaby

    Dear everyone
    hope you are all well.

Is there any way of finding out who is the mother of Arlene,

the births just ststes mothers maiden name. Hannaby

Arlene's marriage to George Watkinson Mar 1961 Salford doesnt say either.

Yes, I can order the marriage or birth, but with the currnt postal system due to covid 19 I might get the cert in 2021.
    thanking you

Marriage certificates in England and Wales do not list the mother. The only way to know her name is to buy her birth certificate.
If you order on line from the GRO you can order a PDF version which comes electronically within a very short period of time, and is cheaper than a paper certificate.

I have a feeling that PDF copies only apply to entries in what began as the 'historic indexes' on the GRO website. i.e. births 1837 till about 1919 and deaths 1837-1957.
Paragraph 10 of the FAQs seem to agree.

    ADDED:
GRO Index spells first name on birth registration as Arleen, so if ordering make sure you spell it correctly.
