Both my wife and I have examples from our family history research of couples marrying each other in two separate Anglican churches in the same London parish within a week or two (one in the late 18th century and the other in the mid-19th century). Does anyone have any idea of why this was done? I could understand it if they were of separate faiths and married in churches dedicated to each one, but why twice in churches of the same denomination? Baffling!
