I don't need any help with this man's dates or family because I know it already, I'm just trying to interpret his two cards
Charles T TWYNAM (but spelt TWYMAN on another card with the same service number)
RAMC 9799 entered Balkans theatre 7 December 1915
on the TWYMAN card against "Star" it says RAMC / 15A 1272
I'm just wondering if that 1272 can lead me to any other record ? or is it of no significance, please ?

The clue is in the word "index". The cards contain pointers to the original medal rolls. These medal rolls are available on Ancestry but Ancestry have not indexed them in such a way that you can get to the relevant entry using the reference in the medal index card.
However, you can find what you want by entering name, regiment, number etc.
I've had a look for you and there's no additional useful information in the medal rolls.

HI
Just to confirm,
TWYMAN card against "Star" it says RAMC / 15A 1272 - RAMC/15A is the roll book title and 1272 is the page number, see the headers on the MIC.
