I’ve been trying to locate where my great great grandfather lived on old maps of Devonport. I’m struggling to find the road he lived on according to the 1911 census. His full name was Ernest Oliver George Roberts. He was born in Devonport in 1886.
His entry on the 1911 census is Ernest Roberts born about 1887 in St Aubyn, Devonport. His address is 2 Martin Terrace, Devonport.
I’ve tried to locate Martin Terrace on some old maps but can’t see it. According to the website below Martin Terrace ran from Saint James's Place to Albert Road.

On FMP's 1911 census when you look at the schedule image in the bottom right-hand corner there's clickable link which says 'related images'. If you click on that, and then on 'list' underneath the enumerator's schedule section, it tells you that Martin Terrace was probably next to St James' church, vicarage, and school, with Clarence Place also in the vicinity, before possibly merging with Albert Road. Which agrees with what you've already said.
If you click on 'description', it tells you the area covered by that enumerator's district in the census, so again you can narrow it down to a precise setting.
It could be that you need a more detailed map than you can see online, so you might have to visit the local archives when they re-open. If Devonport/Plymouth library have a local history section, you may well find maps there.
Ooh clever me, found this site without any problems after not being sure of the name.

Although it's Scotland, they do have maps from England. Will leave you to search.

https://olddevonport.uk/Saint%20James...urch%20of).htm
Note the asterisked note at the bottom of the page which says 'Navy Row later became Albert Road'.
In the 1901 census the 'far end' of Martin Terrace (number 29) is listed next to The Police Quarters Keyham Yard.
As some people are in the land of Nod, I'll just amend this post.
I've found it!!!!

Search for Devonport, and then from the list of maps available select OS Town Plan Plymouth 1893-1894, 1:500
From the red blob in the middle of the page gently scroll left till you see the whole of Morice Town written across the page.
You might have to go left a weeny bit more, till you come to the edge of the map/houses and the end of Albert Road. Martin Terrace, which runs north of ALbert Road, is the last 'street' on the map, and the name is written in the houses, indicating that that is the name of that terrace of houses, not an actual road name.

Thank you so much! I had already looked at the maps from the nls but couldn’t find anything. Probably because the name is written across the houses and not on a road. I did find another map site if you are interested.

Search for a place then choose the Old Map or Later Map. There is a slider top left which allows you to change the map to a modern one so you can see what has changed.
