    Default Hello

Been researching on and off since 2008. Always come up against the same old brick walls.
Same surname held by people in the same registration district. Difficult when no-one knows anything about our ancestors.
Still onward and upwards and as I have time on my hands I'm going to have another go.
    Wish me luck

    Hello again bluentmo.

The key to finding your ancestors is the same as it's always been.
Start with yourself, and then gradually work backwards.
If you really have no knowledge about grandparents etc, then unfortunately it will involve splashing the cash on some BMD certificates for about 1911 towards now. A lot of stuff prior to that date can be found online. If you're lucky.

Don't forget that since 2008 an awful lot more stuff has been made available online. 1911 census and the 1939 Register, just for starters.

Findmypast (FMP) and/or Ancestry are often available for free via your local local library, which you should be able to join remotely if you are not already a member.
