    Hi
    Thank you for the reply, I have the medal and ribbon with four clasps,
    Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal, and South Africa 1902.
    I don't have Ancestry but on the Anglo Boer War website I saw the medal roll for the above.
    I'm trying to find out details of his name, birthplace and his life after his military service.

    I realise that but at the moment all we have is his military record and we have to extract as much information as we can from that in the hope that it will lead to another line of research.

    I've tried the 1911 census for Ireland and found a few possibility's but no direct link to the army.
    I can't see an 1891 census for Ireland.
    There's a few Michaels and Martins in their thirties which could fit.
