    Default WAAF Records

    Hi all, newbie here!

I'm trying to find info on my late nan who was in the WAAF. I've searched this website but no luck finding her even though her name isn't common (Vandersypen or Vanders for short) I don't know her service number or where she was serving but likely in the London area.

Any help / advice greatly received

    Many thanks

    Michelle

Welcome to the British Genealogy Forum.
The MOD has not released post-1921 service records for publication, but family members can buy a set. It costs 30 pounds and you have to provide a copy of the death certificate. They will want either a service number or a birthdate. See HERE.

We'll be able to help you with buying the death cert if you need. It can be quite slow - it took 3 months when I get my Dad's.

All of this assumes that she survived the War. If she didn't , you should be able to find her service number on the CWGC site.
