    Default Gustave Adolph Lorensson

    Dear everyone.

Gustave also spelt his name Larenssen.

Gustave married Beatrice Lillian Streetly on Jan 1918 in Chelsea London.
according to Army records her father was Thomas Streetly, florist.
They moved to South Australia where they divorced in 1922 due to her adultery.
Beatrice also took on other names as Violet Rivers and Lillian Hadley.

What I am trying to find out, is her parents and any siblings.

When I put in Beatrice Lillian Streetly/Streetley, no census records come up.
according to the army records, Beatrice was born 1888 Chelsea.

Your help would be most appreciated.
    thanks
    Doreenh

if you are going by Army records have you got the real marriage Cert. if not this is what you need as you might find more infomation

    Lorensson Gustave A Streetly Chelsea 1a 936

    STREETLY Beatrice L Lorensson Chelsea 1a 936

Just because they are living together on the record you have 79 Westbourne street, Chelsea and they where married in Chelsea does not mean she was born there.

The nearest I have found is a Thomas Streetly in Slaidburn Street, Chelsea on the 1891 census RG12/58 p70 f38

He was a painter with wife Hannah and two children, Joseph (10) and Lucy (7). No sign of a Beatrice.

That Thomas married Hannah Clark, nee Denison, in Pimlico in 1879 (original record on FMP in Westminster collection) where he was described as a carman.

Charles Joseph (later scored out for some reason) born 15/12/86 and Louisa Margaret born 26/2/84, children of Thomas and Hannah Streetly, painter 58 Slaidburn St. Chelsea, were baptised in St.John's Chelsea on 17 September 1890 (originals in LMA records)

So nothing quite adds up I'm afraid. Could Beatrice have been illegitimate and claimed Thomas as her father?

Have you seen the Australian Police Gazette entries for Beatrice?

One in her married name, one in single name and a link to one in the name of Violet Rivers. I can’t view the articles as I haven’t got worldwide access on Ancestry.

Hi Doreen, here's what I've found so far.

The Australian Police Gazette mentioned by Pamela at #4 has reference to Mrs E.J. Streetley of 3a Inglethorpe St Fulham.

    London, England, Electoral Registers, 1832-1965
1923, 1927, 3a Inglethorpe Street, Fulham. Ellen and Thomas Streetley.
Same address 1931, Ellen Jane and Thomas Streetly (that's how it is spelled), also Dorothy Decima Enis Streetly (miss)

    Marriages Dec 1873
BOLTON Ellen Jane Dartford 2a 571
    Streetly Thomas Dartford 2a 571

    Deaths Dec 1974
    STREETLEY DOROTHY DECIMA E, born 12 DEC 1893 SOUTHEND/S 9 2863

From Ancestry's wills index, Dorothy Decima Enis of 23, Gowan Court, South Benfleef Ex, died 9th Oct 1974, probate London 5th Dec £1057.

Hopefully there will be more to come once I've explored more records, fingers crossed.

I found this birth registration which is the right year and quarter for a birth Dec 1893, but it's a different surname.

The article in 1932 in the South Australia, Australia, Police Gazettes, 1862-1947 for Beatrice Lillian Streetley gives all her aliases, her age 43 and physical description. She left England in 1919 divorced her husband a year later and left Adelaide in the company of William Hadley in 1928. The enquiry is on behalf of Mrs J E Streetley residing at 3a Inglethorpe St Fulham, SW6. So who is J E Streetley?
