Hi,
I am currently searching for details on the medals that were received by George William Povey for service during WW2. I have been unable to find them on my various searches across multiple sites and was wondering if anyone was able to help me? I believe he was in the Royal Artillery.
His details are:
Name: George William Povey
Date of Birth: 21 May 1921
Army/Service Number: 4977576
This research is for an extended family member of mine and I would appreciate any assistance with this.
Thanks in advance!

I believe he was in the Royal Artillery.
WW2 service records and medal rolls have not been released. You can apply to MoD. This is explained in many places.
For gallantry medals, try the London Gazette online

Family members can buy a copy of someone's service records from MOD. It costs £30 and a copy of he relevant death certificate.
I can’t provide a link right now, but of you look at the top of the forum called “ WW2 1939-1946” you will find a message about getting service records after 1921 which explains it all.
