Default 30 years of research to present

I have 30 years of research with probably 20 folders full of census newspaper etc. In addition all the BMD certificates to support this. I have gone out on limbs so lots of people to cover. I hope my son will at some point continue my research so want to present him with research he can follow. Do I group it by families which a synopsis for each of them.

I wrote mine into five books. Nothing fancy - just a narrative in Word with photos scanned in and copies of various documents as illustration, but so it reads like a story. There is a book for the family of each of my son's four grandparents, plus a fifth book about my life. I then self published it, but with a privacy setting so that I only got copies for immediate family. The thinking was that if I snuff it my son will probably throw out all my computer files and the contents of my filing cabinet, but he might just keep a book. I also find it easier to look up when I want to check something rather then hunting through the filing cabinet!!

Love the humour! I am now 83 and my daughter likely to be another who will simply bin 40 years research so I better get on and do something about revising and re-publishing for my grandchildren and a few institutions - hope you deposit a copy of your own - British Library always pleased to have a copy.

Local history groups and FHSs like them as well. Borders FHS even has a copy of my website!
