I would like to request the WW2 Army Service records pertaining to my Great Grandfather.
All my known family now live in Australia and none have physical chequebooks for UK based bank accounts.
Does anyone here know how someone outside the UK might go about paying the 30GBP administrative fee? Anyone with experience who may be able to offer some advice? Can you enclose 30GBP in cash in the envelope?
I'd also like to ask how the records are received? Do they mail them to you? Email you scans?
If they mail the records, does anyone know if they'll mail them abroad?

Have a read of this thread, regarding contacting the MoD by email in the first instance.
To the best of my knowledge, records are sent by post, regardless of where you live. Be prepared to wait two or three months for them.
It would be helpful if you could come back to the thread and report how you get on with the MoD.

Don't put 30 pounds in cash in an envelope, you may not see it again.
I have done this for my father.
Your bank can issue a cheque, but it does cost a bit.
Ask for the full set of records, they should copy his full records and will post them to you.
You may have to wait a while.
