Default EDWARD CRAWCOUR-PEACHEY TRYON NEE CHAMBERS

This thread should be read in conjunction with the earlier threads Edward Crawcour alias Cartwright started 19.5.2011 and Helen Semira Wilkie nee Crawcour 1836-1916 started 29.10.2012.

The addition of new records has identified that Edward Crawcour had a relationship with Peachey Tryon nee Chambers in Edinburgh Scotland. This relationship resulted in the birth of a daughter Margaret Louisa born 1 February 1845.

The Sheriff Court Paternity Cases Register of Extracted Decrees identified Pursuer Mrs Peachey Tryon, Mrs Manns Lodgings 87 Princes Street Edinburgh-Defendant Edward Crawcour Esq, London formerly 1 Wellington Place Leith.

I obtained a copy of the index record which recorded that Edward Crawcour was found to be the father of the child and required to pay a sum of money at regular intervals for the upkeep of the child until a specified age.

There are fuller records on the Paternity Case which I will purchase.

The earlier threads on Edward Crawcour provide further details on his Jewish name and parents plus his marriage, death of his wife, his children and later relationship.

It is unclear as to why Peachey Tryon nee Chambers was in Edinburgh but Edward Crawcour's wife had died several years prior to the birth of Margaret in 1845.

Peachey Chambers had married George Tryon on 27 April 1842 Brighton,Sussex -GRO Marriage Index April qtr 1842 Brighton 7 360.
This marriage was the same year as the death of George Tryon and there were three children from the relationship prior to the marriage.
In his probate George Tryon of 53 Chalybeate? Street Brighton Sussex 27 April 1842 named his wife Peachey, his children Clara 15 years old baptised Boulogne France, George age 12 baptised Marylebone, Charles Edward 6 yeras old baptised Brighton. His wife Peachey was one of the executors. The will was proved London 9th March 1843.

In her will Peachey Tyron Gravesend, widow wrote on 5th June 1850 her bequests to her sons George and Charles and daughter Margaret Louisa. Charles Edward Tryon was living abroad and she left him his portrait should he return to England. The bulk of the estate was left to Margaret Louisa. The will was proved 25 Sept 1857 by her brother William Mausall? Chambers and Peachey Tryon the widow and relict.

In the 1841 Census Peachey Tryon was living in Brighton Sussex.

Peachey Tryon died July qtr 1856 Gravesend 2a 153

Non Conformist and Non Parochial Registers show the Baptism of Peachey Chambers daughter of William and Louisa Chambers of Walworth born Oct 1 1800 Baptised Nov 23 1800 Hatton Garden London.

I will post further on Margaret Louisa including her marriage and children.

I have been unable currently to locate on Free BMD the Death Index Record for GEORGE TRYON died 1842 Brighton Sussex. Findmypast have the England Deaths and Burials record for George Tryon 1783-1842 Brighthelmston Sussex
    and National Burial Index.

Similarly, I can't locate George Tryon in the 1841 Census.

If anyone can help locate the Death Index Record and 1841 Census I would be grateful.

FreeBMD has an entry for a George TRYOU d. 1842 Brighton June Qtr Vol 7 Page 191

He is correctly referenced as George TRYON in the GRO Index.

    Possible for the 1841 Census:
Findmypast transcription has a TRYON with no first name, male aged 58. The original image looks like a Major TRYON, late of army.
    Census Ref: HO107 Piece 675 Book 14 Folio 47 Page 18.

The 1841 Census for George Tyron see #3 reads on Ancestry.Co- Oxford Street Marylebone
Major Tyron 58 late of Army not born in county.

This is confirmed in part from the marriage of Margaret Louisa Tyron who gave her father's name as George Tyron soldier deceased. Her father was in fact Edward Crawcour as per the Paternity Case in 1845.
