    Is a first cousin 3 x removed a closer relation than a third cousin?

    I THINK that

    Third cousins have the same great great grandparents

    First cousin 3 times removed would be a first cousin of a great grandparent

    So on that basis it's the latter. However I have NOT tried it out in a relationship calculator.
