    Default My Introduction and quest

Hi I have been advised to use this site to try had trace some living relatives of Trooper Hanson of the Queens Own Yorkshire Dragoons 1914-1916. Any help on these forums would be much appreciated. Thank you.

    Welcome to the British-Genealogy forums
We are not allowed to post names of living people on the open forum as we are primarily a genealogical site searching for our ancestors. However we can provide information for possible living people by use of the private messaging system (pm) To do this click on the user name and then on Private message from the drop down menu.

Do you have any other information for Trooper Hanson you can post on this forum? His first name(s)? Did he survive the war? Regiment number? Parents? Birth date? Anything at all that will identify him from the hundreds of those with the surname Hanson who served in WW1.
You also have to be aware that 60% plus of WW1 service records were destroyed in WW11 by bombing/fire/water which makes it harder to identify the bloke we are looking for just from medal Roll Index Cards or Medal and Award records as these very very rarely have any personal details.
