How certain are you JPY was born on the IOM? I ask as there's no birth for that name in the Manx BMD index and I can not find him on the census returns 1901 0r 1911. I searched for births 1898 +/- 2yrs.

There's a tree on Ancestry which has a JPY marrying Mary Higgins in 1921 on the IOM, however, searching the Manx BMD index doesn't show a Mary Higgins marriage in 1921. It's very confusing and if you've taken your information from the Ancestry tree, or if it is your tree the research needs to be proved with birth and marriage certificates, unless of course you do have the certificates or some other verified documentation.

Until we know for sure where he was born we cannot help you. Do you have any more information about him which you can share?

ETA: I've just found a marriage certificate on family search.

21st March 1921, Parish Church, Kirk Braddan.
Joseph Patrick Young, 23, hotel waiter, father William Young, deceased, a general dealer.
Mary Higgins, 18, father William Higgins a labourer.
