    Default MARSON, Josiah b1890 Leicester - WW1 Service

    Filed in the correct section (MAR) of the WW1 Service Records (WO 363) - but known as JESSE, so perhaps difficult to find from a general search:

    Josiah MARSON joined the RFA in August 1915, declared age 24y 10m, born Leicester.
    Regt No.: 39567
    Discharged 1919.

    Home address: Leicester;
    Married Annie Elizabeth CARTER, 1913 (Aylestone)

    Anc****y, MAR, pages 96735-96750

    I think he's the Josiah Marson listed in the 1901 as son of Thomas and Emily Marson, b. abt 1891 in Leicestershire. 8 sibs, 1 gnephew. Dad's a gen lab. By 1911, Josiah has followed his older brothers (from 1901) as a "rubber hand". Dad's a canal boatman (out of work).
