    Default 1880s Army Horse Transport

Can anyone tell me if 'army horse transport' in the 1880s is a specific regiment or like saying 'army catering corps', every regiment had one? Apologies for sounding thick but I really don't know...

I know Horse Transport Companies came under Army Service Corps in WW1 but not sure about 1880's.

The Army Service Corps was formed in 1888, a successor of the Commissariat and Transport Corps.

Thanks, Peter. I'm not sure when exactly in the 1880s but I think prior to 1888 so I'll keep that in mind.

As Peter said the Army Service Corps was formed in 1888 as a free standing Corps. In 1869 the Army Service Corps was formed under the Control Department, they took over supply and transport functions.
