I have two John Watkin Hughes in the family that I think possibly one served in WW1, recently what I thought where my father's badges and a lighter ( the lighter I'm still uncertain if it first or second world war, hopefully someone can tell me by the photo attached ) as someone on the forum pointed out one was a sweetheart brooch (Royal Welsh Fusiliers spelt Welsh) from WW1 , these would have been kept by my mother I'm certain , her father (my grandfather) was John Watkin Hughes born 6th October 1890,in Penmachno llanwrst , Denbighshire, and died in Conwy,30th September 1966 , I have no recollection of my mother telling me he served in the first world war , the second John Watkin Hughes was born in Aber ,caernarfonshire on July 22 1889 and died on 10 march 1975 ,he would have been my 1st cousin 2x removed , I've only been able to find medal index cards online through ancestry ,it's also a possibility that it's neither of the above , I'm scratching my head a bit about it , I'm almost certain the badge and possibly the lighter if it's ww1 period to have been on my mother's side , I'm leaning more if I'm correct to them being my grandfathers ,any help or advise would be greatly appreciated
Here is a photo of the lighter
Many thanks
Med

This is the original thread about how to upload images.
https://www.british-genealogy.com/fo...y-to-your-post
We had a website problem in June which sent a few things off-kilter including, from what I gather, uploading images. Have a read of this thread to see if anything helps.

I have no technical ability whatsoever, so can't offer any further advice.

I've had a reply back, and it seems the upload feature is currently down.
Unfortunately, at the moment, the techies can't give a time for when it will be fixed, so all I can do is apologise.

Not sure if the 'add an image' feature is now working again but someone did manage to post a photo earlier today. Remember there is a limit to the size you can upload.
Have another try, and if not (courtesy of that other BG member), I've remembered that you can use Imgur.
I knew at the back of my mind there was a site you could use but I couldn't remember what it was.
