In October 1909 he married Alice Emily GILES in Canterbury - as William Henry MARSHALL.

First child, Evelyn Blanche born December 1912 was surnamed DAVIS. She died in 1918, her Death Certificate showing father as "William Henry George Davis otherwise Marshall."

Further children were surnamed MARSHALL:
William George Davis 1915 & Doris Jessie 1917.

He served as William MARSHALL, joining the Buffs in September 1909, discharged from the Labour Corps in 1919.
